With a repertoire of 3 best-sellers, Chetan Bhagat has developed an enviable fan base. His fourth Novel, 2 states, is reportedly inspired from his own story. Krish is a Punjabi boy from Delhi and Ananya is a tamilian from Chennai. It all starts at IIM Ahmedabad, where they met and fell in love. The story then moves to Delhi and Chennai and back, where both tries to convince the families and bridge the cultural differences. The story is an excuse to beat around age old ‘North India versus South India divide.’ But Bhagat’s writing style that makes it a satisfying read. The pace is fast and dialogues witty and clever. The jokes and humour come from fine observations about human nature and Bhagat keeps reader engaged and entertained. He finely taps the boisterous and over the top attitude of Punjabis and Delhites and subtleness of Tamilians. The novel has all the ingredients of Bollywood masala entertainer and Bhagat captures his reader well. Give it a try, this is one of his better works.
