who is your favourite cookery author?

Hi there

I am so happy to have got admission in my dream college and my dream course. In a couple of weeks I shall pack my bags and leave for the US!!! Yippie!!! But before I leave I would want to pick up a few good cookery books so that I could make a decent meal for myself. Please tell me whose books should I pick up?

Tarla Dala / Sanjeev Kapoor

safer bet would be picking up books by Tarla Dala or Sanjeev Kapoor - though I clearly remember watching their TV shows wherein a few of their recipes were just weird - (c'mon! who fries "gulab jamuns" after coating them in some yellow substance)

But none the less, they do have good ideas for snacks and easy to make food. Give it a try.

Try The Restaurants

Where in US are you going? What you gonna be studying?

I'm sure there are a lot of restaurants around for you to feast on...why bother cooking? And if you miss "ghar ka khaana", make friends with Indians who cook. Problem solved!

your mom

When I was leaving for the US I asked my mom to compile a few simple recipes in a notebook that I could carry along. I think no chef in the world can bring out the taste and nutrition like our moms can

Try YouTube
Simple and smooth ... Google it and search on You Tube. You can see a demo as well. Then replay it and simultaneously try it out. Isn't it cool?
