More details The eight stories (mostly about the lives of Tam Brahms except the first) are very well written. They connect with the reader instantly. I particularly loved the story Mysore Coffee, which revolves around Sita, a professional who is plagued by childhood memories of her father's suicide. She is good at her work, but does not communicate too much with colleagues. Many-a-times, others take credit for the work that she did and she becomes nothing but a mute spectator.
The best part about the book is to read about characters who are like you and me. The book is a good comment on the style of contemporary Indian literature, dwindling of Indian family traditions and values, the shadow of Western cultures and ethics on our homes, combined with the unavoidable influence of the global economy.
