Knocked Up – Mumbai Launch

Saturday, 11th December, 2010.

Magic Moments and Reliance TimeOut launched Shaiju Mathew’s debut work – Knocked Up on Saturday (11th Dec.) at Reliance Time Out, Bandra, Mumbai.
Though a late start to the event got almost everyone waiting a bit “knocked out” but the overall event presentation more than made up for the agitation.

The book was unwrapped by Mr. Radhakrishnan Pillai, an expert on Chanakya’s teachings, after a very interesting and interactive book reading session.

Mr. Radhakrishnan (Chanakya) Pillai congratulated Shaiju on his work and shot a volley of questions (which we must admit were well-handled by the nervous author). Peeping through Shaiju’s inspiration to write this book; his memories of college days; his daily journal filling habit; his resemblance to Sid; his fondness for R K Narayan’s works and many other aspects of Shaiju’s life revealed a lot more about the simply brilliant author who believes in writing in the most simplest form (for everyone to read and understand without having to sit with a dictionary), for his readers to connect with the story.

The small gathering of close friends brought in a lot of warmth and love to the room. Jasmine Lord, (Editor of the book) shared some of her experiences and points of uncontrollable laughter while editing the book. Also, Pushtiie Shakti –TeleActress; Rishi Bhutani – Actor, Bolo Raam; Sundeep Malani – Director; Aseem Tiwari - Actor, I Hate Luv Storys; and Aditya KripalaniAuthor--Backseat, were seen interacting and sharing their thoughts about Shaiju’s book.

Knocked Up is a hilarious tale of friendship, love, happiness and togetherness experienced, redefined and celebrated by three best friends Sid, Ron and Prateik. The story is sure to find a connect with everyone’s growing up years, bringing back nostalgic moments of teenage days.
Shaiju also signed books for his audience towards the end of the evening.
