On Award Thursdays this week, BookChums features American chef, writer and television personality, Anthony Michael Bourdain. He is synonymous with his television shows including Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and The Layover. His most famous books include Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly; A Cook’s Tour: In Search of the Perfect Meal; Typhoid Mary: In Search of the Urban Historical; Anthony Bourdain's Les Halles Cookbook; The Nasty Bits; No Reservations: Around the World in an Empty Stomach; and Medium Raw: A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People who Cook. His works on fiction include Bone in the Throat, Gone Bamboo, Bobby Gold and Get Jiro.


Bourdain was born in New York City. He attended Vassar College and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. He is also a recipient of many awards including Creative Arts Emmy Award, CLIO Award, Critics Choice Best Reality Show Award, Emmy Award and was inducted into the James Beard Foundation for Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America.
